Day Seventeen Forty Days of Focus: Relationships

What happens when marriage runs out of gas? What do you do when you get into a fight and both the husband and wife are sure they are right? How do you get back to good? Does one of you need to give in to recover a place of peace in the relationship? In our marriage it's the God factor that makes it right. Whenever we hit a wall that seems like it's too hard to move I go to the Lord and offer up this simple prayer, "God, change her or change me, but get us back to good." It's amazing how quickly and how often God has answered that prayer and changed the way I felt. In minutes I've gone from hurt emotions and dug-in heals to a place of grace and mercy and forgiveness. Usually when I go to find my wife to tell her I'm sorry she says, "No, I'm sorry." It usually ends with, "I love you." The God factor makes all the difference in good marriages.
